LibKey trial

Charles University has limited trial access to the LibKey tool. Here, you can clearly find all the necessary information so that you can also work with the tools (during trial access) and try them out.

One of the ways to try the tool is through an extension in your web browser. Learn how to install the extension below.

The LibKey tool only works on a PC, it cannot be used on a mobile phone or tablet.

This is a trial, which means that some functionality may not be available or may be available only to a limited extent. You can get the best search results on UK information sources by searching in UKAŽ. You can send any questions or feedback to us by email at admin-eiz@cuni.cz.

Some information to get started

Have you ever visited a website and wondered if you could access the articles or resources through our library?

With LibKey Nomad++, you don’t have to guess. As you browse, the extension automatically notifies you if the content is available through Charles University Library and provides a direct link to access it.

How to get extention?

1. Download: Search for "LibKey Nomad" in your browser’s extension store or visitwww.libkeynomad.com to download it and install it.
2. Install: Follow the instruction to add LibKey Nomad++ to your browser. Pick Charles university as your organization.
3. Start Browsing: As you browse, LibKey Nomad++ will automatically notify you of available resources and provide direct access links.

If you installed the extension and selected Charles University, the extension will look like this. Everything is now ready to use. Just click somewhere outside of this popup window and start using the extension.

How does it look like

When you reach an article page, LibKey Nomad automatically checks the subscriptions that Charles University Library users have access to and provides a link to the article (if available).

If you are outside of UK buildings, you will be directed to verify your CAS login before being directed to the PDF of the article. LibKey Nomad does not store your credentials or require you to create an account.

LibKey Nomad automaticky umístí tlačítko do spodního rohu kompatibilní webové stránky. Toto tlačítko mění svůj vzhled a označuje, jaká úroveň přístupu je k dispozici.

Download PDF znamená, že Univerzita Karlova poskytuje přístup k PDF a přesměruje vás přímo na PDF dokumentu.

V případě dostupné e-knihy bude na tlačítku napsáno View E-book.

Article link označuje, že Univerzita Karlova poskytuje přístup k článku a přesměruje vás na stránku, kde můžete k článku přistupovat. Možná si budete moci článek stáhnout odtud.

Access options označuje, že Univerzita Karlova nemá přímý online přístup k článku. Kliknutím na toto tlačítko se dostanete přímo do UKAŽ, kde můžete vybrat další možnosti přístupu.

Wikipedia

LibKey Nomad se integruje s Wikipedií a poskytuje odkazy pro rychlý přístup k položkám v seznamu referencí.

PubMed

LibKey Nomad poskytuje fulltextové odkazy na položky ve výsledcích vyhledávání PubMed.

Nejčastější dotazy

Funguje LibKey Nomad pro každý web/databázi/článek?
Ne. LibKey Nomad rozpoznává články podle identifikátoru DOI. Pokud článek nemá uvedené DOI, LibKey Nomad ho nerozezná a nemůže dohledat plný text. Kromě toho je LibKey Nomad v současné době nakonfigurován tak, aby fungoval pouze s vybranými vědeckými webovými stránkami, nikoli na webu obecně (viz níže).

Znamená používání LibKey Nomad, že se už nebudu muset přihlašovat, abych měl přístup k článkům?
Při prvním použití (při každé relaci) vás bude stále vyzývat k ověření pomocí vašeho CAS přihlášení, ale poté by se měl ověřovat automaticky, dokud nezačnete novou relaci prohlížeče.

Funguje LibKey Nomad pouze s předplacenými materiály Knihovny Univerzity Karlovy?
Ne, používá také Unpaywall k nalezení bezplatných verzí článků, které nejsou součástí předplatného Univerzity Karlovy.
