LibKey trial
Charles University has limited trial access to the LibKey tool. Here, you can clearly find all the necessary information so that you can also work with the tools (during trial access) and try them out.
One of the ways to try the tool is through an extension in your web browser. Learn how to install the extension below.
The LibKey tool only works on a PC, it cannot be used on a mobile phone or tablet.
Some information to get started
Have you ever visited a website and wondered if you could access the articles or resources through our library?

How does it look like
When you reach an article page, LibKey Nomad automatically checks the subscriptions that Charles University Library users have access to and provides a link to the article (if available).
If you are outside of UK buildings, you will be directed to verify your CAS login before being directed to the PDF of the article. LibKey Nomad does not store your credentials or require you to create an account.
What to look for?
LibKey Nomad will automatically place the button in the bottom corner of a compatible web page. This button changes its appearance to indicate what level of access is available.
Download PDF means that Charles University provides access to the PDF and redirects you directly to the PDF document.
In the case of an available e-book, the button will say View E-book.
Article link indicates that Charles University provides access to the article and redirects you to a page where you can access the article. You may be able to download the article from here.
Access options indicates that Charles University does not have direct online access to the article. Clicking this button will take you directly to UKAŽ, where you can select additional access options.

Additional Help
Common questions
Does LibKey Nomad work for every site/database/article?
No. LibKey Nomad uses an item's DOI to retrieve full text options. It cannot retrieve items with no DOI. Additionally, LibKey Nomad is currently configured to work only with selected scholarly websites, and not on the web in general.
Does using LibKey Nomad mean I won't have to log in to access articles anymore?
It will still prompt you to authenticate with your Purdue Login the first time you use it (each session), but after that, it should authenticate automatically until you start a new browser session.
Does LibKey Nomad only work with pre-paid materials of the Charles University Library?
No, it also uses Unpaywall to find free versions of articles that are not part of the Charles University subscription.
